Three types of Christians
Back to "Why Christianity is evil"
This isn't a point about 'evil' really, 'just noting that after talking about and discussing beliefs with Christians, I've come to categorize them in three main distinct groups.

Christians Type-1:

Type-1 Christians may not be particularly religious people or they may be quite devout. What sets them apart from the other two types is their lucidity. Many Type-1 Christians are simply 'good' people who go to work, pay their taxes and are generally good citizens. (I'm painting with a broad brush of course. These are generalities).

It may have simply sufficed to be 'good' civil people who supported community effort 'till husbands and wives have kids and then 'BOOM' wifey suddenly insists that the children have religious or moral "instruction" or "guidance". 'Time to fit in with the rest of "Christian" society because they would be viewed as remise if they didn't teach the kids about Jesus and company and about "morals", (probably due to no small extent by her mother's badgering and guilt mongering). It may be going through the motions or it may be more sincere than that, but like I mentioned before, Type-1 is distinguished by being particularly lucid about the whole affair.

There seems to be a large percentage of Type-1's that are doing a sort of civic duty by going to church "religiously" (more likely than not, once a week at most), but not taking it home with them. But on the other hand Type-1 Christians may be quite devout simply because they view Jesus' sacrifice for "the world" as a beautiful gesture of a father protecting his children, but typically don't get TOO far into scripture or Christian theory. Type-1's also tend to recognize that there are other forms of spirituality and don't discount other faiths or religions, viewing Christianity as simply one moral/deity worship model just as valid but perhaps no more valid than worshiping Krishna or following "the way" of Buddhism. Type-1's may feel that it is human spirituality that is an innate sense of holiness and that each culture perhaps puts their own human face on it.

Type-1 Christians tend to be relatively intelligent and good people who recognize that "science", technology and modernity is not "the enemy" that is attacking the dogma of talking snakes and the sun standing still, but simply modern manifestations of human culture. Type-1 Christians can be "saved" from the evil and exploitive nature of the Christian theory but may still feel the "need to be spiritual" or to "connect" with a "higher power". Some Type-1's instinctively are drawn to the idea of minimizing pride and engaging in subservience, thinking that "ego" is a bad word and associated with a puerile and short-sighted selfishness, etc. They sometimes like the idea of "being a part of something greater than themselves" in which they can immerse themselves in and find a sense of external purpose for "being here". I'm not knocking this sense that appears to be some sort of social-follower instinct, but I find it detrimental to being an effaceable independent person in my own personal opinion.

Christians Type-2

Type-2 Christians are more of a handful. These guys and gals are "Moonies for Christ". Faith tends to really undermine their ability to think clearly as faith usurps their ability to discern and discard untruths. Logic and sensible reasoning is typically lost on them and it's difficult to tell how intelligent they may have once been before their minds were corrupted with faith. Faith destroys one's ability to discern true from false and allows them to continue to lie to themselves when confronted with biblical problems or problems with Christian theory.

To them, "truth" is whatever they have gleaned out of the bible (with help of the holy ghost, of course) but is not necessarily what is actually written in the bible & they don't believe that all parts of the bible is literal. In other words, Type-2's will read a bit of "the gospels" say, and then invent their own friendly and loving version of it.  By in large, most of the people you'll find proselytizing for "Christ" will be Type-2 Christians. They are "The Borg" that call themselves sheep and seek to assimilate you into their flock collective. They are the Ned Flanders of Christianity. Yepi-diddily doodley.

Type-2 Christians pick and choose which parts of "scripture" they wish to believe is true and which parts they believe is "allegory" "metaphor" etc. Typically, unless they come right out and declare that 'X' DID happen, they will usually refrain from committing themselves on what is the "word of 'god'" and what is "dogma" even though they are loath do publicly dismiss any of it. (We heathens just don't understand because our minds aren’t regenerate). In other words, they say that the whole bible is true but they don't mean all literally true. They consider parts literally true and other allegorical parts as imparting 'reveled' allegorical truth when 'god' decides that "you are ready for it".

Type-2's are 140% focused on the love of JESUS!!! They go on and on about their "loving" 'god'  (meaning Jesus of course) while ignoring that within the theory, Yahweh sent "his only begotten son" to earth to be tortured and killed because it fit into Yahweh's plan for this to happen. When pressed on the matter and asked whether Yahweh sent is son to earth to be tortured and killed so that his blood can atone for the crimes of sinners, Type-2's will typically (like good little cult members) respond with how wonderful Jesus is for bearing his cross for us, etc. In other words, they practice psychological evasion. You can ask them ten times and you get ten evasions, always focusing on how Jesus is so swell and how they have a personal relationship with him. They "walk" with Jesus but consider Yahweh's big picture an afterthought. They will chant the mantra that "Jesus died for their sins" but resist facing the fact that (within the theory) it was Yahweh's plan from the beginning for his son to be tortured and die so that his blood can serve to atone for their sins. Hebrews 9 is explicit on this (as if we couldn't figure it out anyway). Jesus was a human sacrifice to Yahweh to gain his favor and atone for infractions. Type-2's are reluctant to admit this if they will at all, seeing instead that it was "the worlds power controlled by Satan" that killed Jesus and they see Jesus as merely a stand-up kind of guy. Jesus was invented as bait for Type-2 Christians.

Also, what parts of the bible are viewed by the Type-2 Christian as literally true and which parts are viewed as allegory and metaphor doesn't always follow common sense either. They might be skeptical about Sampson tying the tails of 300 foxes together and setting them on fire but literally believe in legged talking snakes possessed by Satan that omniscient 'god' just didn't pick up on when he took the snakes legs away and not the devil's. The Type-2 Christian might literally believe that the "Great Flood" covered the highest mountain top (while conveniently ignoring the logistics of South American slugs getting to the Middle East), but in turn might be skeptical about Satan showing Jesus all the kingdoms of the world from an exceedingly high mountain peak's vantage point. What happens to end up being their "truth" is almost capriciously random.

Christians Type-3:

Type-3 Christians are fundementalists or "bible literalists" and think nothing of lying for "god's glory".

Paul's question in
Romans 3:7 ...
"For if the truth of God hath more abounded through my lie unto his glory; why yet am I also judged as a sinner?"

...typifies the Type-3 Fundamentalist Christian's mindset. Quite literally, anything goes as long as 'god' wins in the end, then all's well that ends well for 'god'.

Type-3 Christians believe that it was Yahweh's plan that Jesus, his son, came to earth to be their savior and his torture and death and shedding of blood paid for their sins against Yahweh as Paul explains in Hebrews 9.

BUT...
They are hellfire and brimstoners. Yahweh is the axe and Jesus is the sacrificial lamb whose human sacrifice made the blood drinking Yahweh happy when he got a snifter full of the blood of the good and innocent because despite what Jesus said, Yahweh ALWAYS requires blood of the innocent as atoning payment for sins. He doesn't really
forgive.

Hebrews 9:22
"...and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness. "

Leviticus 17:11
"For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul."

(Remember, Christianity isn't defined as people who follow Jesus' philosophy of turning the other cheek and loving your enemy, or Mahatma Gandhi & Buddha could be legitimately called Christians. "Christian" is defined as someone, for their own personal gain and profit, worshiping the torture and death of Jesus, a good and innocent man, so that they themselves can evade being sent to hell by the (sadistic) 'god' named Yahweh.
Jesus was a "sin offering" to Yahweh within the context of Pauline Christianity. This is a point that Type-2 Christians are very loath to admit.)

Type-3 Christians say that they care about Jesus' message on the Sermon on the Mount, etc but they typically don't and they don't try to be like Jesus at all. They pray to good Jesus the lamb but worships evil Yahweh the axe and Yahweh is a very evil mofo. Type-3 Christians believe that human life has no value outside of being chattel and playthings for the capricious and mentally unstable 'god' Yahweh.

Not being unable to forgive Bob unless Bob worships Yahweh's son's death that Yahweh planned and arranged is insane.

Type-3 Christians typically don't care that their absolute power is insane; they just want to worship absolute power absolutely and thereby get a piece of the action. They typically have a degraded or destroyed instinctive sense of morality and will for instance tell a grieving widow with children that her husband is now suffering in hell because he worshipped 'god' the wrong way (been there, seen that).
